Waste Management in Puchong: Collection, Recycling and Construction Waste Disposal

A Local Guide for Contractors, Factories and Property Managers Working in Puchong and Bandar Puteri, Bandar Kinrara and Taman Perindustrian Pulau Meranti

Why Puchong is its own waste problem

Puchong sits between three demands that rarely align: dense residential redevelopment, a mature light-industrial belt around Pulau Meranti and Taman Perindustrian Puchong, and commercial fit-out churn in Bandar Puteri and IOI Mall's surrounding lots. Each generates a different stream, and each has a different access constraint. A skip that works on an open plot in Kinrara will not clear the ramp of an occupied shoplot in Bandar Puteri.

Our facility is at Lot 11164 & 11165, Jalan Pulau Meranti, 47100 Puchong — which means Puchong collections are short-haul. Short haul is the single largest controllable cost in a local waste quotation.

1. What we collect in Puchong

  • Construction and renovation debris — concrete, brick, tile, mixed mineral debris from residential and shoplot works.
  • Industrial non-product output — offcuts, packaging, pallets, mixed factory waste from the Pulau Meranti and Puchong industrial areas.
  • Ferrous and non-ferrous scrap — priced against published indices, weighed on a calibrated bridge.
  • Timber and formwork — including painted and laminated material, declared for accurate quoting.
  • Scheduled waste — coordinated through DOE-approved facilities, never mixed into general streams.

2. Construction waste disposal in Puchong: what drives the price

Five blocks make up every quotation — container, haulage, gate/tipping, sorting, documentation — reduced by the recovery credit on anything we can return to use. In Puchong specifically:

  • Haulage is low because the round trip to our weighbridge is short. Ask any Puchong quotation to show haulage separately; if it doesn't fall relative to a KL city job, question it.
  • Tipping is charged by weight, so dense mineral loads price differently from light fit-out loads even in the same bin.
  • Sorting is where money is lost. A segregated concrete load carries a credit. The same concrete with gypsum, soil and food packaging in it becomes a mixed load, and mixed loads pay for the labour to undo the mixing.
  • Access windows matter. Occupied shoplots and condominium podiums often restrict lorry entry to early morning; state the window at quotation and it prices in, not on.

3. Recycling in Puchong: what actually gets recovered

Concrete and mineral debris become recycled aggregate — crusher-run equivalent, 20mm, 40mm and hardcore — available for collection from the same Puchong yard, which is why local contractors often dispose and buy on the same day. Metal is sorted and sold to mills; timber becomes biomass wood chip or graded pallets. Whatever cannot be recovered goes to licensed disposal, is weighed, and appears in your report as the residual figure. We publish the residual because a diversion claim without its remainder is marketing, not measurement.

4. Council and regulatory notes for Puchong

Puchong falls under Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya (MBSJ). Two points matter to generators:

  • Liability sits with you, not the hauler. Under the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and Act 672, illegal dumping by an unlicensed lorry becomes the generator's prosecution. Verify licences; ours are published and we encourage you to check them with the issuing bodies.
  • On-site crushing needs notification. If you intend to crush on a Puchong site rather than haul out, DOE and local-council notification plus dust and noise plans are required. We handle both.
